Hanoi, Nov 20 2007, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, has approved a program to focus on the development of biofuels. The program outlined the development roadmap to the year 2015 and a vision till the year 2025.
The approval was made by the Decree No177/2007/QD-TTg, which further detailed “development of biofuels, a new and renewable energy, to partially replace fossil fuels in order to achieve energy security and environment protection”.
The goals of the program is to replace 0.4% of gas demand by biofuels by 2010, by 2015 the production of biofuels should reach 1% of total gas demand.
